What should I look for in a cleanser?
There are plenty of face wash options out there, including cleansing oils, facial scrubs, and foaming cleansers, but it’s important to consider the ingredients when choosing the right one for you.
Chamomile in particular is rich in antioxidants and naturally restores hydration while helping to even skin tone and texture. Green tea is filled with powerful antioxidants that fight free radicals and detoxify while cucumber helps soothe and cool the skin. All three ingredients can be found in Cleanse, our foaming vegan face wash suitable for all skin types.

Can I use cleanser everyday?
Absolutely! A leading cause of acne is excess sebum production and clogged pores, and cleansing helps prevent this unwanted buildup. Going to sleep without washing your face is a skincare sin so keep your cleanser where you can see it and always wash your face before bed -- we’re begging you!
Washing your face daily also helps maximize the effectiveness of your skincare routine. Every skincare product like moisturizer works best on a clean face without the barrier of makeup or impurities, which is why cleansing is the first step in any skincare routine.

What’s the best way to wash my face?
Washing your face may seem fairly simple, but there is a proper way to do it. Wet your skin with lukewarm water then use your fingertips to massage a nickel-sized amount into your skin with gentle, circular motions. Try massaging for 60 seconds to ensure a deep clean and leave your skin feeling super soft. Rinse thoroughly and gently pat dry

How often should I wash my face?
We generally recommend washing your face twice daily, both morning and night. Washing in the morning helps get rid of dead skin cells that have built up from the night before, while washing at night helps remove makeup, oil, dirt, and bacteria that has accumulated on your skin throughout the day.
Although washing your face twice daily has its benefits, it isn't best for everyone! Your skin type will typically determine how often you should wash your face.
- Acne-prone or oily skin: 2x daily
- Sensitive, normal, or dry skin: 1x daily
Washing your face too often can cause redness, itchiness, dryness, and increased oil production, so if you experience any of these, cut down to washing once daily (night is best).

What if my cleanser makes my skin tight or dry?
If your facial cleanser leaves your skin feeling tight or dry, here are a few potential causes:
Cause #1: You’re washing your face using water that is too warm or too hot. Use lukewarm water when washing your face because using water that is too warm or too hot can dry out the skin by stripping it of natural oils.
Cause #2: Your cleanser is too harsh or not the best fit for your skin type. Your skin type plays a critical role in knowing which products will work best for you so make sure you choose a cleanser formulated for your skin type.
Cause #3: You may be washing your skin too frequently. If you wash your face twice daily and experience tightness or dryness, cut down to washing just once daily.

Can I use a cleansing brush?
Yes! If you don’t have sensitive skin and can tolerate use of a cleansing brush, you can use one for a deeper cleansing. Use gentle, circular motions and be careful not to apply too much pressure or brush too aggressively as this can irritate the skin.
